Multi-Agent Collaboration & Swarm Handoffs
Modern enterprise tasks rarely fit a single monolithic model. The isagent.io/app workspace supports Multi-Agent Swarms, enabling specialized domain agents to collaborate, review each other’s outputs, and seamlessly hand off sub-tasks in a single unified conversation.

1. Automatic Intent Routing (SenseNode)
When a prompt contains multiple cross-functional requests, the platform’s intent classifier (SenseNode) dynamically decomposes the workflow and assigns the task to the optimal agent persona:
- Architect Agent: Responsible for high-level schema design and structural trade-offs.
- Coder Agent: Focused on syntax, unit tests, and performance optimization.
- Auditor Agent: Inspects Cedar security boundaries, token consumption, and audit trails.
2. Explicit User Mentions (@agent)
Users can explicitly bring specialized agents into the conversation using @ syntax:
> @data-analyst Analyze the user retention trend in the attached CSV and @copywriter draft an executive email summary.3. Agent-to-Agent Handoffs ([HANDOFF:])
An agent can autonomously delegate downstream execution to a teammate by emitting a structured [HANDOFF:] directive:
{
"action": "handoff",
"target_agent": "security_auditor",
"context": {
"proposed_pr": 429,
"changed_files": ["src/auth/pkce.py"]
},
"instruction": "Verify that PKCE code verifier entropy satisfies RFC 7636 before merging."
}Shared Workspace Scratchpad
During multi-agent execution, agents do not dump raw diagnostic logs into the user chat stream. Instead, they write to a shared Session Scratchpad:
- Artifact Ownership: Any agent in the session can read, inspect, or modify artifacts created by predecessor agents.
- Context Compaction: Intermediate sub-agent tokens are compressed, preventing context window exhaustion during long multi-step investigations.
- Collaborative Verification: For mission-critical tasks, the primary agent drafts the solution, and a secondary verification agent runs automated checks before presenting the result to the user.
